The programme was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. V. K. Gupta, College Director Shri Veerendra Tiwari, IQAC In-charge Mrs. Chanchal Yadav, and DSP Shri Savan Kumar Sarthi. The dignitaries encouraged students to use digital platforms safely, responsibly, and cautiously.
During the programme, students were informed about various measures to prevent cybercrime and online fraud. They were specifically advised not to share OTPs with unknown persons, avoid clicking on suspicious or unknown links, and exercise caution while receiving WhatsApp video calls from unknown persons.
Students were made aware of the importance of keeping their ATM PIN, Aadhaar Number, passwords, and other personal information confidential and not sharing them with unknown individuals. They were also advised to change their passwords regularly and use strong and secure passwords.
They were further informed that information related to any service or scheme should be obtained only from official websites. Students were advised to download mobile applications only from trusted platforms such as the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Students were informed about the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 for immediate assistance in case of cybercrime. They were also guided on how to register complaints through the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in.
Under the “Cyber Crime Free Chhattisgarh” initiative and the Cyber Awareness Campaign of Chhattisgarh Police, students were encouraged to spread the message of cyber safety among their families and communities. A Cyber Awareness Selfie activity was also organised, in which students participated enthusiastically.
The programme also included an awareness session on the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of staying away from addiction. Students were encouraged to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle and contribute towards building a drug-free society.
In addition, students were provided with information about traffic rules and road safety. They were encouraged to follow traffic regulations, drive carefully, and perform their responsibilities as responsible citizens on the road.
Information about the Sanchar Saathi App was also provided during the programme. Students were informed about its usefulness in protecting mobile and communication services and the various facilities available through the initiative.
All teaching and non-teaching staff of the college were present during the programme.
The programme successfully enhanced students’ awareness of cyber security, digital privacy, prevention of online fraud, cybercrime reporting, de-addiction, road safety, and responsible digital citizenship. It encouraged students to remain vigilant, protect their personal information, and spread the message of cyber safety throughout society.
