The Department of Forestry and Biodiversity, established in 2021, operates within the Faculty of Science, with a mission to foster comprehensive growth in forestry by nurturing world-class professionals and addressing the multifaceted needs of India's forests and its diverse biodiversity. Our endeavors encompass teaching, research, consultancy, extension activities, and publication to serve the forestry sector and advance academic and research excellence.

Our department is dedicated to addressing contemporary forestry challenges, including global concerns such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, wetlands preservation, and sustainable resource management. We emphasize solution-oriented research to tackle emerging issues and actively engage in technology transfer to stakeholders, including farmers, state forest departments, and voluntary organizations.

Specializations offered in Silviculture & Agroforestry; Tree Breeding & Forest Genetic Resources; and Forest Products & Utilization enable students to delve deeper into their areas of interest, fostering expertise in diverse facets of forestry.
