Chhattisgarh Hareli Bird Count 2026

About The Event

Team Vananubhav Documents Regional Avian Diversity for Chhattisgarh Hareli Bird Count 2026

During the statewide Chhattisgarh Hareli Bird Festival 2026 held from August 14 to 16, Team Vananubhav—representing the Department of Forestry at Chaitanya Science & Arts Autonomous College, Pamgarh, in collaboration with WWF-India—actively conducted and documented local avian biodiversity as part of the three-day citizen-science initiative. Joining over 1,000 observers across the state, our student researchers and faculty documented species richness in key local habitats and logged real-time observations directly onto the scientific eBird platform (View Checklist S383542378). By integrating ecological monitoring with Chhattisgarh’s traditional agrarian Hareli festival, this hands-on field initiative reinforced our department's commitment to avian conservation, student research, and community-led environmental stewardship.
