About The Initiative

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) is a flagship initiative by the Government of India launched to address the declining child sex ratio and promote the education and empowerment of girls across the country. The scheme aims to change mindsets, eliminate gender-based discrimination, and create a supportive environment where every girl child is valued and given equal access to education and opportunity.

The mission combines coordinated efforts from the Ministries of Women & Child Development, Health & Family Welfare, and Education. Its key components include community mobilization, enforcement of laws against sex-selective practices, awareness campaigns, and infrastructural improvements in schools to ensure girls not only survive but thrive.
