One-day music therapy workshop was organized at IQAC Chaitanya College, Pamgarh in which international organization The Otkar Kraus Music Trust UK was present as the keynote speaker. Dr. Margaret Lobo, Director of England, Anand Veer Singh Music Therapist Eswas Center Delhi, Dr. IS Suri Former Head of Department of Education, Nagaland University. and Dr. Piyali Acharya Master Trainer Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Delhi, Dr. Sharad Kumar Bajpai Principal, was present,
Mr. Veerendra Tiwari Director, welcomed the visitors with a bunch of flowers. Dr. Garima Tiwari,Astt Prof Forestry Department, Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bilaspur, while giving the welcome address, said that Dr. Margaret Lobo has been working for the betterment of life and stress relief through music therapy for almost 35 years.
Treatment of diseases and depression with music is a special art whose benefits are obtained from different dimensions of music, but which few people are aware of. Dr. Lobo, overwhelmed by the grand welcome accorded by Chaitanya College, congratulated the director of the college, Virendra Tiwari and praised the arrangement and discipline of the college, Dr. Lobo inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp on the statue of Mata Saraswati.
Let us tell you that for the first time such an event was organized in Chaitanya College Pamgarh and in Pamgarh area. Dr. Margaret Lobo addressed the students and shared her experience of music therapy treatment for children who pick up garbage A study of the condition of children who left their studies in Goa and found that most of the children were in deep depression. They were hesitant to even talk to anyone.
His rehabilitation efforts by the local police and government doctors had proved fruitless. In such a situation, Dr. Lobo and his team used music therapy on those children. The results of which were very encouraging. This experiment was also carried out in local government schools. Dr. Lobo said that all children should have equal opportunities to lead a good life. Music therapy helps give them this opportunity. During music therapy, we give an opportunity to the individual to unleash their creativity. Music is a great means of communication and coordination. Meanwhile, music therapist Anand Veer Singh told about the scope and importance of music therapy through PPT. He told that music therapy is used in hospitals, educational institutions, nursing houses, psychological medical rehabilitation centers.
All persons above 2 years of age can take advantage of this. The shortcomings of loneliness, domestic violence, trauma, pain, abuse can be cured by a person suffering from an inferiority complex. Management of emotions, management of expectations, music is effective in developing an understanding of inner music, identifying oneself. He made him feel the music depicting various human emotions through flute and mouth organ.
Dr.I.S. Suri told about the benefits of music therapy and also described music as a better medicine for depression. Dr. Vivek Joglekar beautifully described various ragas and classical music, Brahmanad, Raag Bhairavi by singing songs and described music as a means to control the mind. Piyali Acharya also told that music is the need of modern era in today's busy life, which helps in managing stress.
Dr. Sharad K. Bajpai, Principal underlining the benefits that students get from such an event, told about the relationship of music and life from birth to death, music plays the role of friend in happiness and sorrow. College Director Virendra Tiwari expressed his gratitude by presenting mementoes to Dr. Lobo and Anand Singh, he said that the land of Pamgarh has become blessed today with the arrival of you people, along with the need of human society for healing through music. It also helps in giving right direction.
