About The Event

Constitution Day was celebrated in Chaitanya Science & Arts College Pamgarh on 26 November 2019. The Constitution of India was prepared on 26 November 1949 with the hard work of 2 years 11 months and 18 days. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar played an important role in the making of the Constitution of India; hence he is called the 'Maker of the Constitution'. The constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. A huge public awareness rally was organized by NSS volunteers and college students with a purpose to disseminate message of constitution in society to make them aware about fundamental Rights and Duties of the poeple.
The rally started from the college campus and passed through the Behavioral Court Tehsil, Ambedkar Chowk and finally terminated at the college campus. The program was inaugurated by offering flowers to the oil paintings of Mata Saraswati and Babasaheb Ambedkar and lighting the lamp. Mrs. Anshu Rashmi Bara, Assistant Professor Political Science, while delivering the welcome address, outlined the various aspects of the Constitution. Addressing the students, Justice Shri S. P. Tripathi said that both fundamental rights and duties go together, along with the use of our rights, it is necessary for all of us to understand our duties. The spirit of the Constitution is contained in these four words Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. If the constitution gives us rights, it also asks us to perform our duties. We all have a responsibility to do what is lawful. Showing the book of the Constitution, he said that the incomparable contribution of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar cannot be forgotten. The real tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar will be to abide by rules of the constitution. When we talk about fundamental rights, how can we forget the duties? Rights and duties are always concomitant. Right without duty gives rise to autocracy. Every student should try to read and understand the constitution. Dr. Sharad K Bajpai, Principal of the College said that our Indian Constitution is the world's longest and handwritten constitution, it is really an inspirational document. In this, citizens have been given rights and they are also expected to perform their duties. NSS program officer Sanjay Baghel also shared the history of the constitution making committee and constitution by keeping his views. Meanwhile, Judge Shri Tripathi read out the “Preamble of the Constitution” and administered oath to the students and staff to exercise their duties and rights in the interest of the country.
