Prof. G.D Sharma Vice Chancellor ,said that proper management of solid waste would be possible only with awareness, public participation, scientific knowledge and the will of the government. Public participation is essential for proper success. Volunteers play an important role in bringing awareness to the general public. Along with increasing human need, 18 kg of garbage is also increasing from households per capita in India, equivalent to 70 million tonnes of garbage is generated in the whole country, of which 20 percent is used, 10 percent is managed and 70 percent remains unusable.
Its management requires scientific knowledge and its practical process and formulation of policies of good governance, Inventory of Waste Management and Recycle Management is very important for its success. While praising the Godhan Scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh, he said that this scheme is an epoch-making step in the direction of sustainable Development.

He said that along with technological, scientific and economic development, the volume of waste also increases. Citizens of developed countries have to pay tax or public cooperation of 3000 rupees per month for waste management. The situation in India is different as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, cleanliness and education were laid out, but due to lack of public cooperation and awareness, it is not impossible.
