In Chaitanya Science and Arts College Pamgarh, a one-day national webinar was organized on 07.06.2021 on the need and importance of vaccination to protect against corona. Prof. (Dr) Lalit Prakash Pateria, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Nandkumar Patel University Raigarh, was present as the Chief Guest in the webinar. Dr. R. A. Sharma, a renowned surgeon from Bilaspur and Dr. Mandeep Singh Tuteja, a chest specialist of Fortis Jindal Hospital Raigarh were also present as a subject specialist and also as a resource person of the program. Dr. Garima Tiwari, assistant professor in Guru Ghasidas University and member of Chaitanya Education Committee, Shri Veerendra Tiwari, director of the institution and patron of the program, and Dr. Sharad K. Vajpayee, the Principal of Chaitanya Science and Arts College was present. After the introduction of the guests, welcome address was given by Dr. Garima Tiwari. As the first speaker of the webinar, Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Lalit Prakash Pateria addressed the webinar with the pleasure of the chief guest. Appreciating this webinar being organized by the college on relevant and important topic in the present time, he praised the efforts made by Chaitanya Mahavidyalaya for public awareness during the Corona period. Sharing his own experiences during the first wave of Corona, he credited the Indian medical system and doctors for minimizing the damage caused by the first wave. He said that it has been the result of the knowledge and experience of Indian doctors that the country was saved from the great loss that could be caused by the first wave of Corona. Respected sir said that till complete knowledge and information related to corona epidemic is not available, prevention from corona is the biggest solution. For this, he emphasized on wearing masks, physical distance and avoiding going in crowds. Vaccination has been described as the biggest way to prevent corona. Expressing concern over the misconceptions spread in the society regarding vaccination, he stressed on spreading public awareness by finding ways to remove them. He said that the higher education world should contribute to encourage the youth for vaccination. He appealed to the participants of the webinar to disseminate the information received from this program in the society.
On the suggestion of the Vice-Chancellor, the information about the availability of the recording of the entire program was made available on YouTube by the respected Director Sir. Dr. R. A. Sharma, while giving his views on the program, threw light on the development journey from the historical background of the vaccine to the present time. They also discussed ways to avoid infection. Comparing the effectiveness of various vaccines being administered to protect against corona, Dr. R. A. Sharma said that vaccine is the only ray of hope to protect against corona. Dr Sharma praised the efforts being made by Chaitanya Science and Arts College during the Corona period.In the last session of the webinar, Dr. Mandeep Singh Tuteja, a thoracic specialist from Fortis Jindal Hospital, who was involved as a subject expert, shared his views. He provided detailed information about the properties of different types of vaccines being applied to protect against corona, the process of making them, the difference between them.
He explained in detail about the common symptoms arising in the body after vaccination. He threw light on the subject of which vaccine should be applied to the people of a particular age and why. Dr. Mandeep Singh ji, doing a very fine analysis of almost all the aspects related to the vaccine, described vaccination as essential to protect against corona. He gave answers to the questions asked by the participants and pacified the curiosity of the students.
At the end of the program, Dr. Garima Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks. The webinar was conducted by Rishab Deo Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. During the webinar, Professor of Geography Department Dr. Narendranath Guria and Assistant Professor of Computer Science Department Dhaneshwar Suryavanshi provided technical assistance. More than 210 students have participated in the webinar.
