International Yoga Day was celebrated at Chaitanya Arts and Science College Pamgarh. Dr. Garima Tiwari, Associate Professor of Forestry Department of Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bilaspur, was present as the Chief Guest in the program. Dr. Reshma Jogdand, Assistant Professor of S. Vyasa University, Bangalore, was invited as the keynote speaker in the program. At the beginning of the program, Dr. VK Gupta, the Principal of the institution, while giving a welcome remark, appraised the gathering about the importance of yoga, the need and relevance of celebrating Yoga Day and the theme of this year's International Yoga Day, “Yoga for Humanity”. He said that yoga is such a method that helps to concentrate the meditation. Concentration of energy and focus is essential for achieving excellence in various spheres of life. Keynote speaker Dr. Reshma Jogdand, while addressing the gathering through online meeting, said that yoga helps in establishing balance between mental, physical, spiritual and social aspects of a person. Yoga is the best means of achieving overall health. Yoga teaches self discipline. Dr Jogdand further said that 90 percent of human problems start with the mind. To reduce the speed of the mind, it is necessary to increase physical activities. Throwing light on the principle of stress, he said that due to the dominance of lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, tension arises in the absence of desire fulfillment. He said that to stay healthy in nature, we provide such seasonal fruits, in which the nutrients present are helpful in keeping our body healthy in the respective season.
Yoga teaches to be in harmony with nature. All-round health can be achieved only by establishing harmony with nature. Director of the organization Virendra Tiwari while addressing the program said that for a healthy body and longevity, yoga has to be made a part of our lifestyle. Regularity and patience are absolutely necessary to get benefits from yoga. Dr. Garima Tiwari, while addressing the gathering from the virtual platform, said that Yoga is for all and for all Yoga. Adopting yoga is the need of the hour for a better personality and a better society. Before the discussion, Tuka Singh, a former student and yoga instructor of the institution, along with the professors, officers and employees of the institution, were taught the tricks of yoga to the students present in the program and the participants connected through online medium. The program was conducted by Assistant Professor Rishabh Deo Pandey. Assistant Professor Dhanesh Surya provided technical assistance in the program. All the staffs and more than 100 students actively participated in the celebration. Mr. Veerendra Tiwari, honorable chairman in his address appreciated the activity and expressed its relevance in lifestyle management. He asked participant to include yoga in their daily lifestyle to enhance productivity and efficiency.
