About The Event

The Science Department of the institution organized a creative and skill-based workshop on Art and Craft – Diya Making with the objective of promoting innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning among students. The workshop was scheduled keeping in view the festive season and aimed at fostering not only artistic talent but also awareness about eco-friendly practices in daily life. It reflected the department’s effort to integrate scientific values of sustainability with traditional art forms.

The session began with a brief introduction on the significance of diyas in Indian culture and how the use of natural, biodegradable materials can help reduce environmental pollution. The instructors explained different methods of diya decoration and encouraged students to use colors, mirrors, beads, sequins, and eco-friendly items like clay and natural dyes. With great enthusiasm, students participated in the activity and explored their creative potential.
