About The Event

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Swati Moghe, State Director (Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh), WWF, highlighted the urgent need for youth participation in biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. Through a detailed presentation, she introduced the history and ongoing efforts of WWF and urged students to come forward with innovative, eco-friendly ideas. She also praised the college for its continuous efforts in spreading environmental awareness.

WWF activist Abhay Rai inspired the students by reminding them that protecting the environment is not just the responsibility of institutions but of every individual. He emphasized that small lifestyle changes by young people can collectively bring about a major positive impact. He also introduced the “Campus Engagement Program,” designed to involve students more deeply in conservation activities.

College Director Virendra Tiwari remarked that this MoU is not a mere formality but a concrete step to secure the future of society and the coming generations. Principal Dr. V. K. Gupta called the agreement a proud and historic moment for the college, while senior professor Vivek Joglekar expressed confidence that the partnership would motivate students to work more actively in the field of conservation.

The program was conducted by Assistant Professor of Forestry, Akash Kashyap, and attended by senior faculty members Dr. Veena Pani Dubey, Mrs. Shubhada Joglekar, other staff members, and a large number of students.

Notably, WWF was founded in 1961 with its international headquarters in Gland, Switzerland, and its India headquarters in New Delhi. Its Bhopal regional office coordinates all conservation activities in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
