Chaitanya Science and Arts College, Pamgarh, celebrated National Science Day on February 28, 2025, with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty, and distinguished guests. This year’s theme, "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat," highlighted the crucial role of homegrown innovations in driving India's progress and self-reliance in science and technology. The event was conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing both in-person and virtual participation, with several distinguished speakers joining online to share their insights. The program commenced with an engaging address by Mr. Rishabh Pandey, who warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and emphasized the significance of National Science Day, which marks Sir C.V. Raman’s discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928—a groundbreaking milestone in Indian scientific history. Renowned speakers, both present at the venue and connected virtually, shared their invaluable insights, underscoring the role of indigenous technologies in nation-building and sustainable development. Dr. Dhananjay Pandey, joining online, emphasized the importance of scientific research and innovation in shaping a self-reliant and progressive India, encouraging students to nurture scientific curiosity, which could lead to pathbreaking advancements in indigenous technologies. Dr. Garima Tiwari, Professor of Forestry, speaking virtually, discussed the interconnection between science and environmental sustainability, highlighting the significance of conservation efforts and how modern indigenous scientific solutions can help preserve biodiversity and maintain ecological balance. Dr. V.K. Gupta, Principal of the College, addressed the audience in person, commending the students' enthusiasm and motivating them to actively engage in scientific pursuits, stressing that a strong foundation in education and research is vital to realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through indigenous technological advancements. Dr. N. Guria, Assistant Professor of Geography, also present physically, elaborated on the role of geographical sciences in sustainable development, addressing pressing issues such as climate change and natural resource management, and emphasizing how scientific innovations rooted in indigenous knowledge can effectively combat environmental challenges. The event concluded with an interactive session, where students, both onsite and online, enthusiastically showcased innovative projects inspired by indigenous technologies, reinforcing the theme’s significance in achieving a self-sufficient and technologically advanced India.
